In HASTE: Broken World, Buffs and Debuffs are temporary or persistent effects that modify the player's attributes. Unlike items, buffs and debuffs do not have a cooldown or rarity level, and they cannot be directly obtained or activated by the player. Instead, they are typically acquired through Question Points and are applied based on player choices made during these events.
- Sources: Buffs and debuffs primarily stem from Question Points. Depending on the choices the player makes, they may receive a beneficial effect (Buff) or a negative effect (Debuff). These effects influence the player's key attributes and affect gameplay in various ways.
- Attributes Affected:
- Hearts: Buffs and debuffs can increase or decrease the number of **lives** the player has.
(Note: Hearts cannot be reduced below 1, preventing the player from being killed by a debuff. Additionally, Hearts cannot exceed the maximum of 3 if already full.)
- HP: Effects may raise or lower the player's max health points.
- Speed: Movement **speed** can be temporarily boosted or reduced.
- Energy: Buffs may increase the rate of **energy** gain, while debuffs could reduce the **energy** gain rate.
- Sparks: Buffs can boost the amount of **Sparks** collected, while debuffs may reduce collected Sparks. Buffs or debuffs may also affect the pickup radius for Sparks, expanding or contracting the zone in which **Sparks** can be collected.
Buff & Debuff Types
- Buffs: These are positive effects that enhance the player's attributes, often making gameplay easier or providing strategic advantages. Examples include HP regeneration, increased speed, higher Spark collection rates, or expanded Spark pickup radius.
- Debuffs: These are negative effects that reduce the player's attributes, adding an extra layer of challenge. Examples include reduced HP, slower speed or decreased energy gain.
